Raffles and prize draws: run by us as a small society lottery registered with Charnwood Borough Council. Your ticket gives the name and address of the member responsible for promoting that draw.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Friends of Sacred Heart School Association. “You” means the person buying, and anyone you buy on behalf of.

Before you buy - three things to know

  1. All sales are final. Once your payment is taken we cannot refund or exchange it because you have changed your mind, your plans have changed, or you cannot use what you bought. See section 3 for the narrow situations where we do refund.
  2. Preferences and requests cannot be guaranteed. Anything you tell us in the form - seating, table groupings, ticket numbers, dietary choices, timings, who you would like to be with - is a request that we will try to honour. It is not part of what you are buying, and we cannot promise it.
  3. We may need to change things. Dates, times, venues, running order, prizes and draw dates can all change. We will tell you if they do.

1. Buying

1.1 Your purchase is confirmed when we send your confirmation. Until then nothing is reserved.

1.2 The confirmation we send is your ticket unless we tell you otherwise. Please keep it. We may ask to see it, and we may ask you to identify yourself.

1.3 Your payment is handled by our payment provider, and their terms apply to the payment itself.

1.4 Please check your order before paying. We may not be able to correct it afterwards.

1.5 Tickets are for personal use. You may give one to a guest, but you may not resell one at a profit, and we may cancel any ticket we reasonably believe has been resold or obtained dishonestly.

1.6 Donations given alongside a purchase are voluntary gifts and are not refundable.

1.7 Your order may be cancelled, or be subject to additional payment, at our discretion if:

  • you used a code you were not eligible to use; or
  • you used a code you were eligible for at the time, but are no longer.

Where a code was used dishonestly, cancellation may be without refund.

2. Lottery and raffle tickets

This section applies only to lottery, raffle and prize draw entries, and adds to the rest of these terms. Where you have bought an entry alongside other tickets in one transaction, this section covers the entry only.

2.1 Entries are sold under our small society lottery registration, shown at the top of this page. Your ticket names the member responsible for promoting that draw.

2.2 You must be 16 or over to buy or hold an entry. We may cancel an entry, and withhold a prize, where this is not met.

2.3 Your confirmation is your ticket. Please retain it in case it is needed to claim a prize.

2.4 Entries cannot be refunded or withdrawn once payment is taken. This applies whether or not the draw has yet been made, except as set out in 3.2.

2.5 The draw is made as described for that draw and the result is final. Winners are contacted using the details you gave us, so please make sure they are right.

2.6 Prizes must be claimed within the period stated for that draw, or within three months of the draw where no period is stated. After that we may retain or redraw the prize.

2.7 Prizes are as described. Where a prize cannot be supplied we may substitute one of equal or greater value. Prizes are not exchangeable for cash unless we say so.

2.8 Buying an entry is not a donation and does not qualify for Gift Aid.

3. Refunds

3.1 We do not refund because you have changed your mind, your plans have changed, or you cannot use what you bought.

3.2 We will refund you if we cancel or withdraw what you bought for reasons that are not down to you, if it does not substantially go ahead, or if we change it so that you cannot reasonably be expected to use what you paid for.

3.3 Where one item within your order is affected, we refund that item and the rest of your order stands.

3.4 Refunds are of the amount you paid us. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, childcare or other costs you have incurred.

3.5 Where we hold a refund for you we will try to reach you using the details you gave. Refunds go back by the way you paid wherever possible.

3.6 Nothing here affects rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.

4. Attending in person

This section applies where what you bought is attendance at an event or activity in person. It does not apply to a draw entry, or to anything sent or handed to you.

4.1 Follow the venue’s rules. Where the venue displays or publishes rules, conditions of entry, or safety instructions, you agree to follow them, and to follow reasonable instructions from staff, stewards and volunteers.

4.2 Where no rules are displayed, behave as a reasonable person would expect in that place. This is not a list of everything - as examples, and unless we have said otherwise for that event, that means: no alcohol brought in; no illegal drugs; no smoking or vaping except where permitted; no weapons; no abusive, threatening, discriminatory or intimidating behaviour; no damage to the venue or its contents; and reasonable consideration for other people there.

4.3 Children remain the responsibility of the adult who brought them throughout, unless we have clearly stated that an activity is supervised.

4.4 If you do not meet the above, we may ask you to stop, ask you to leave, cancel your tickets without refund, and refuse you entry to future events. Where the behaviour warrants it we may also involve the venue, the police or other authorities, and recover from you the cost of any loss or damage you cause.

4.5 Photographs and recordings may be taken for our own publicity, and in line with any photography permissions already held. Tell a member of the team on the day if you would prefer not to appear.

4.6 We may refuse entry, or ask someone to leave, on safety or capacity grounds.

4.7 You attend at your own risk, and are responsible for your own property. We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

5. Your information

5.1 We use what you give us to run what you bought, to contact you about it, and to keep our records. We do not sell it. Our privacy note says more.

6. General

6.1 These terms apply to every purchase from us unless we have agreed something different in writing.

6.2 If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

6.3 The terms in force are those published when you bought. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.

6.4 If something has gone wrong, please contact us at contact@fosha.org.uk - we would rather hear about it than not.
